Riyadh Climbs 47 Spots in City Rankings

The Saudi capital, Riyadh, has made a significant leap in the ranking of global cities, advancing 47 positions to reach the 25th spot among 1,000 cities across 163 countries in the 2026 Oxford Economics Index. The most prominent factor behind this progress was its outstanding performance in the Human Capital pillar, where it ranked fourth worldwide, thanks to efforts to attract talent and develop human capabilities. Riyadh also achieved the 18th position globally in the Economy pillar, with an economic growth rate of 11% over the past five years. The number of international company headquarters in the city increased to around 700, further cementing its status as a regional business hub.
