AI Ethics Forum Reviews Sector Governance in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia organized in Riyadh the fourth edition of the UNESCO Global Forum on AI Ethics, which continues until September 17, with the participation of a select group of international experts and decision-makers. Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of AI governance by adopting seven ethical principles, including integrity, transparency, and security. Since the beginning of the year, more than 40 programs have been launched in this field, including training programs such as "Samaei" and "Samaei 2," aimed at graduating experts in vital sectors, with over one million individuals having completed the national program. The forum also discussed ways to enhance international collaboration to ensure the responsible and safe development and use of AI technology, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on risk governance and providing an effective regulatory framework for emerging technologies.
