Saudi launches first industrial robot

A Saudi company has launched its first series of locally produced industrial robots called the MR Series during a Saudi industrial forum, with the aim of localizing robotics technologies and enhancing the Kingdom's industrial capabilities. The company spent about a year developing three models used in welding, material handling, pick-and-place applications, with an production capacity of approximately 200 robots per year. There are plans to expand into designing robots with payloads of up to 200 and 300 kilograms. This initiative is part of the Kingdom’s efforts to develop its industrial sector, increase reliance on advanced technologies, export robotic products, and strengthen the competitive edge of the national industry.
