Saudi Arabia announced the existence of estimated resources amounting to around 114 million tons of crude oil in Jabal Sayid, located in the Medina region. These resources contain rare earth minerals and promising levels of uranium, revealed through exploratory work and geological studies that uncovered high concentrations of heavy electrical metals, along with the potential to extract uranium from phosphate fertilizer production processes. The Kingdom aims to develop a value chain that includes the processing and manufacturing of uranium ores and yellowcake, thereby enhancing its nuclear capabilities and achieving economic benefits. This will be carried out under regulatory and supervisory procedures in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, along with efforts to utilize associated uranium and develop additional exploratory programs.
