Egypt has announced a plan to establish its first large-scale data center dedicated to artificial intelligence, with a capacity of 200 megawatts and an investment of up to one billion dollars, utilizing technologies from the American company Nvidia. The project will commence with a facility of 20 megawatts capacity and an investment of 200 million dollars as an initial phase lasting three years. Companies such as Vodafone Business, El Sewedy Electric, and Casava Technologies will be responsible for its implementation. The goal of the project is to enhance Egypt's position in the field of artificial intelligence, develop digital infrastructure, and attract international partnerships—especially amidst increasing competition between the United States and China in the region. It also forms part of Egypt’s broader efforts to improve the energy network and better utilize data centers.
