Kuwaiti Fund Signs Grant for Gulf Power Link

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development signed a grant agreement worth 200,000 Kuwaiti Dinars with the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority to finance a study on expanding the Gulf electrical interconnection to include networks outside the member countries' system. The aim is to improve energy exchange and support regional cooperation. The study will assess expansion opportunities, define the phases and priorities for implementation, and evaluate the technical, economic, and environmental feasibility of the project. It will also include operational, environmental, and social impact assessments. Previously, the Fund provided 78 million Kuwaiti Dinars in loans for electrical interconnection projects in the region.
