Hooria Sami was an Egyptian singer born in 1930 in Tanta. She moved to Kuwait in 1961 to work with the Radio Musical Band formed by the renowned composer Naguib Ranzkalla. She quickly adapted to the Kuwaiti environment and possessed a powerful voice with clear diction, which led to her official appointment as a singer at Kuwaiti Radio. She recorded over 54 songs and appeared on television wearing traditional Kuwaiti attire.
