Barqan launches smart parking in Egypt

Parkken, an Emirati company specialized in parking management and intelligent mobility technologies, plans to enter the Egyptian market through a memorandum of understanding with local firms. The goal is to develop an intelligent parking system based on artificial intelligence technologies. The partnership aims to explore opportunities to improve vehicle flow management, reduce search times for parking spots, and enhance operational efficiency by implementing systems such as automatic license plate recognition, AI-supported cameras, and entry/exit solutions via barriers and digital permits. This move aligns with Egypt’s urban expansion, where the need for integrated solutions to manage traffic is increasing—especially in new cities and multi-purpose urban projects. With nearly 30 years of experience managing over 229,000 parking spots, Parkken aspires to bring its expertise to the Egyptian market. This will contribute to improving urban parking management, reducing the economic costs associated with searching for parking, and strengthening the infrastructure for smart mobility in future Egyptian cities.
