Abu Dhabi Fund Highlights Partnerships for African Water Security

The Abu Dhabi Development Fund emphasized the importance of cooperation and joint financing to strengthen water security in Africa through funding the Metolong Dam project in Lesotho, valued at 77.1 million AED (21 million USD), out of a total of 450 million USD for the project. The project aims to meet the increasing demand for water and supply clean water to more than 500,000 households, in addition to supporting agriculture, public health, and economic development. The project contributes to improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of people and is part of the Fund's efforts to enhance water security through the Abu Dhabi International Water Platform. It also aligns with the Water and Sanitation Leaders Forum in Africa to promote transformation in the sector.
