Oman's trade surplus rises 37% in May

Oman recorded a trade surplus of 3.4 billion Omani riyals by the end of May 2026, representing a 37.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Exports rose by 10.1% to approximately 10.6 billion riyals. This growth was driven by an increase in oil and gas exports by 8.4% to 6.8 billion riyals, as well as a 64% rise in re-exports, reaching 1 billion riyals. Additionally, non-oil exports increased by 1.5% to 2.74 billion riyals. On the other hand, commodity imports grew slightly by 0.8% to 7.22 billion riyals. The United Arab Emirates topped the list of Oman’s non-oil trading partners in both exports and re-exports, and was also one of the main countries exporting goods to Oman.
