Saudi trains carry 38M passengers in three months

During the second quarter of 2026, the train network in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia transported over 38 million passengers, in addition to moving 3.7 million tons of commodities, including metals and goods, and shipping 47,000 standard containers. Urban transportation recorded 36 million passengers, led by Riyadh Metro with 29.7 million, followed by King Abdulaziz Airport Train with 3.9 million, the Masha'er Train with 1.9 million, and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University Train with 635,000. Between cities, the number of passengers on the Haramain High-Speed Train reached 1.6 million, the Eastern Train 389,000, and the Northern Train 246,000.
