Nearly 15,000 visa and border rule violators detained nationwide

The Ministry of Interior conducted extensive field campaigns across various regions of the Kingdom between February 2 and 8, 2026. These efforts resulted in the apprehension of 14,970 individuals violating residency, work, and border security regulations, including 7,437 violators of the residency system, 3,991 of the border security system, and 3,542 of the labor system. Additionally, 13,251 violators were deported and 17,747 cases were processed for travel procedures. Authorities also detained 1,626 individuals attempting to cross the border illegally, of whom 62% were Ethiopians and 37% Yemenis. The Ministry emphasized that anyone facilitating the entry of violators or providing them with shelter could face penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of one million riyals, and the confiscation of transportation means and housing. The public is encouraged to report violations through the emergency numbers in their respective regions.
