The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, established in 1971, plays a leading role in supporting sustainable development in brotherly and friendly countries through financing and investing in development projects. By the end of 2025, the cumulative financing amounted to approximately 250 billion dirhams, benefiting 108 countries, including concessional loans, grants, and direct contributions. In 2025 alone, 13 projects were financed with a value of 2.2 billion dirhams across vital sectors such as energy, water, health, education, and infrastructure, with a particular focus on health, which received the largest share through investments in hospitals and the provision of healthcare services to millions of people. The fund also supported strategic projects in sectors like food security, education, and health in several countries, launching investments worth 562 million dirhams in healthcare, education, and food security, creating thousands of jobs and generating tangible economic and social impacts. Currently, the fund aims to increase its focus on measurable outcomes, such as the number of beneficiaries and job opportunities, as part of its strategy until 2030 to promote sustainable economic growth and build long-term economic capacities in partner countries.
