Kingdom detains 15,836 for regulation violations

During the field campaigns conducted from 24 Jumada al-Akhirah to 1 Rajab 1448 AH (9 to 15 July 2026), a total of 15,836 violators of residency, work, and border security regulations were apprehended across all regions of the Kingdom. Among them, 7,892 were violators of the residency system, 4,617 of the border security system, and 3,327 of the labor system. Additionally, 1,631 individuals attempting to cross the borders into the Kingdom were caught, including 33% Yemenis and 65% Ethiopians. Forty-two individuals attempting to cross the borders outside official channels were also arrested. Furthermore, 17,273 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, while 6,160 were assisted with their travel bookings. A total of 12,211 violators were deported. The Ministry of Interior emphasized that facilitating the entry or transfer of violators exposes the offender to penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of one million riyals, in addition to confiscating transportation and accommodation means. They also urged the public to report violations through the provided contact numbers in different regions.
