Bloomberg Agency has forecasted that the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market will enter a surplus phase by 2028, following an expected delay caused by the war in the Middle East and the postponed implementation of major projects. The peak of the surplus is anticipated between 2031 and 2032 with the commissioning of new projects. Previously, forecasts had indicated that the surplus would begin in 2027, but geopolitical conflicts and damages to Qatar’s projects are creating uncertainty in global gas supplies. It is also expected that Middle Eastern supplies will increase by 50% by the end of the decade.
