Dubai completes first phase of Blue Line metro tunnel excavation

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai announced the completion of the first phase of tunnel excavation for the Dubai Metro Blue Line project, two months after beginning the main digging works. They successfully increased the daily excavation capacity to 30 meters by using a modern giant machine, enabling the phase to be completed in just two months. This project is considered one of the largest infrastructure initiatives in the Emirate, aiming to connect residential areas, workplaces, and the airport more quickly, and to achieve the goals of Dubai’s Urban Plan 2040. The project is expected to generate benefits exceeding 56.5 billion dirhams by the year 2040.
