Met detective victims police comparison

A Metropolitan Police detective, Linda Williams, has publicly criticized the force’s handling of her 2004 rape by officer David Carrick, who was convicted of multiple sexual offenses. Williams, who developed PTSD from the assault, settled a civil case with the Met and received compensation without the force accepting liability. She now calls for the resignation of Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, accusing him of failing to improve police culture and expressing a lack of trust in how the force manages such cases. Williams criticizes the force's insensitive legal approach and its failure to support victims, highlighting ongoing issues of misogyny and misconduct within the Met.
