Trump announces $25M whistleblower reward plan

The Trump administration announced a $25 million Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program offering Americans up to $30,000 for tips that lead to successful fraud convictions or major enforcement actions. The program aims to combat widespread misuse of taxpayer funds, notably involving Medicaid and childcare fraud uncovered through investigations and reporting, including work by independent journalist Nick Shirley. The initiative is managed by the Justice Department and seeks to encourage public participation in revealing federal benefit program abuses.
