ICE raids aim to suppress voting, advocates warn

A new wave of immigration raids in California has raised concerns about efforts to suppress voter turnout ahead of the November midterm elections. Local officials and advocacy groups blame the increased enforcement on the federal government to discourage immigrant communities from voting, with officials urging voters to use mail-in ballots for safety. Despite denials from federal officials that agents will target polling places, community leaders warn that increased raid activity may intimidate voters and disrupt civic participation.
