Governor commends local hero in school shooting
A man who intervened to stop a school shooting in Bend, Oregon, is the father of two students at Silver Rail Elementary. He shot and fatally wounded the teenage gunman, who had entered the school with a shotgun purchased by his mother, resulting in three children and a teacher dead and others critically injured. Authorities have not publicly identified the shooter or the hero, but police confirmed the gunman was found dead inside the school minutes after the attack began.
