Westfield Topanga's food revival struggles

Westfield Topanga's food hall, Topanga Social, has undergone a major overhaul after initial failure, replacing a failed lineup of restaurants with rotating chef-driven pop-ups and established eateries to attract more visitors. The mall aims to elevate the dining experience by reimagining fast-food favorites with the help of celebrity chefs and collaborations, including a six-month residency for the pop-up Chain, known for transforming mass-market dishes into gourmet offerings. Despite early challenges like noise and high prices, recent changes, management shifts, and new concepts are showing signs of increased visitor engagement. The redevelopment reflects broad industry efforts to revitalize shopping malls through upscale food experiences amid evolving consumer habits.
