Ohio State unaffected by eligibility extension

An executive order signed by Ohio's governor allows college athletes who began their careers in 2022 to be eligible in Ohio for the 2026-27 season, bypassing NCAA restrictions on eligibility. The order prevents Ohio colleges from enforcing NCAA rules that would limit participation, ensuring that players from the 2022 class can compete regardless of prior eligibility status. This move comes amid ongoing NCAA disputes over eligibility rulings for the 2022 class at the federal level. Ohio State's men's and women's basketball teams are unaffected, and the football roster is already set.
