FlyDubai co-pilot identified as Hamam al-Hammami

A co-pilot suspected of attempting a terrorist attack on an Israeli-passenger flight was an Omani national previously barred from flying for Oman Air over concerns of extremist views. The incident occurred on a FlyDubai flight, where the co-pilot attacked the captain with an axe, tried to seize control, and nearly caused a crash before passengers subdued him. Investigations are focusing on his background, motives, and potential connections to extremist groups, with regional and Western agencies involved.
