Expert critiques Talarico's claim on Jesus teachings
James Talarico, a Texas Senate candidate and seminarian, publicly justified his support for universal healthcare by citing biblical actions of Jesus and prophets. Critics argue he misinterprets scripture and hypocritically promotes government-led welfare while neglecting individual charity, conflicting with biblical teachings and constitutional principles. Talarico's remarks have drawn controversy amid his run against Republican Ken Paxton in a high-stakes election.
