Lawmakers pregnancy photo sparks controversy

Congresswoman LaMonica McIver of New Jersey is facing multiple felony charges related to an incident at a detention center protest, where she allegedly interfered with law enforcement attempting to arrest the Newark Mayor. Despite potential prison time, she publicly announced her pregnancy, stating it was a personal decision she refused to let the charges or the administration impact. Her social media post sparked criticism from conservative figures, accusing her of attempting to use her pregnancy for leniency or political advantage amid her ongoing legal case.
