Arthur Blair Inn Debuts in Monrovia

Joshua Cain, André Reyes, and Jeff Godbold restored the historic 1887 home of Monrovia’s late historian, Steve Baker, into the Arthur Blair Historic Inn. The inn, opened this summer, features nine guest rooms, Victorian-style furnishings, and a focus on authentic preservation, with no TVs in the rooms to evoke a 19th-century atmosphere. The restoration involved extensive work to preserve original architectural elements, using salvage materials and returning features like the roof, porches, and fixtures, aiming to achieve inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places. The inn offers a unique, time-period immersive experience for visitors and will soon include a French-inspired bistro.
